When students are answering text input questions in Gimkit, show an accent keyboard to make it easier to type characters not on a traditional keyboard
Yes please!! The students get frustrated that they can’t easily make accents.
Yes! When using chromebooks, its very difficult for students to input special symbols! Please!
Yes I have only been able to make text questions without accents because my students have chromebooks and are too young to understand accent codes
I agree! World language teachers would love this feature! We need a little board listing the various accents–> áéíóúñ¿¡etc.
The lack of this single feature is what is causing me to wonder whether to continue my subscription. I love this site and what it offers, but I teach French and there are SO many extra symbols that it’s almost impossible (and it’s definitely artificial) to avoid words that have NO extra symbols. PLEASE ADD THIS. I don’t want to abandon ship!
this is the 1st
You already have the jscript-code for “symbol & accent keyboard” available when creating questions. Why not make it available when students are answering questions. Doing so will also provide an ability to modify code in one place and add new keyboard options such as superscript, subscript, and fractions. Similar to google’s “special characters” feature. In the future, this could also be modified to add a “math keyboard” similar to IXL (not entertaining) possesses.
Student accents aren’t so much of an issue if a student is using a personal device because they can change their keyboard settings easily. The problem is on school chromebooks that are locked by the district and prevent students from easily adding a secondary keyboard. When doing competitive game modes it’s an issue if students have to have two windows up so they can copy and paste accents.
Yes please, I cannot have students use the special characters for Spanish when having text imput answers

Four years later and this still has not been addressed… Why did you make an accent menu available when creating sets if it’s not there while answering questions? What was the point?
i was here
Me too!
