I’d love to be able to jump in and answer a few questions to boost teams that are lagging far behind. Sometimes they lose interest if they think they’re not going to win so they stop working. It defeats the purpose of practicing to get better. Giving them that little helping hand and then ducking out would be great. It might be fun if there was a notification, too…something subtle to show that we popped in. ;-)
LOVE THIS!
Great!
Love this! I often try to pop in as an absent student but I never get on the losing team.
Related update: We just added the ability for Teachers to boost players’ balances and Ice players. This isn’t your idea exactly, but it’s designed to help address the same issue of students losing interest. It’s not currently available with Team Mode, but we hear you and your concern!
Woohoo! Awesome!
@Michael Fejes Possesion powerup?
I usually walk around the room as they play, and just grab a computer off a kid on the losing team and play to bump them up a bit.
@Kristy Albrecht , just don’t play. Leave your player on the screen but get up and walk around the room. You don’t HAVE to play! But it’s hard to resist 😉
It seems like NOT playing on Fishtopia doesn’t hurt anyone else, but NOT play TAG wasn’t the same - the opposing team can still tag me, can’t they?
@Kristy Albrecht Yes, I think you can still get tagged, but then you respawn in your home base and they can’t get you again. So I guess they get 1 tag out of you. 🤷♀️ And actually, come to think of it, you do get counted as part of the team, which can throw off the numbers.
I think if you email hello@gimkit.com you can ask them and gets better response. This forum isn’t really the place they will check for those kinds of issues.
Great idea
Hey @Kristy Albrecht!
When you’re waiting for students to join a game of Tag or Fishtopia, click the button at the lower right to toggle between joining as a player or spectator. If you join as a spectator, you’ll be a ghost who can see what students are doing, but can’t be tagged, etc. Hope this helps!
could we archive or put this on completed?
@EPIC This is not completed and is a valid suggestion so it will remain open.
oh ok!
